Market Leaders | Highest Priced New Listings | April 2019

The priciest condo to come to market in April was PH#3 at Wardman Tower: part of a relaunched series of penthouse listings at the legendary building in Woodley Park. Available at a whopping $8,095,000, this 4,532 square foot duplex was built in 1928 and extensively renovated, featuring 3-bedrooms, 3.5-baths, hardwood flooring with beautiful inlay, tray ceilings, a den, library, multiple fireplaces and a delightful private roof desk.

Coming in second is Unit #2W at the 1055 High boutique in Georgetown. With 3,446 square feet of space, 3-bedrooms and 3.5-baths, this modern flat overlooking the canal is listed at $4,950,000 and has a strikingly contemporary kitchen that could easily be mistaken for a trendy café. Bonus points for the see-through fire feature!

Next is Unit #71 at 2029 Connecticut in Kalorama. The 5-bedroom, 4-bath penthouse in this 1917 classic has a remarkable 5,400 square feet of living space and has been reduced $600K, down to $4.9 million. This timeless classic with its grand fireplaces and two-bedroom master suite combines the best of old and new.

Our fourth place finisher has already closed! Unit #61 at the grand old 2101 Connecticut Avenue in Kalorama has 4-bedrooms, 3-baths and 3,200 square feet of living space. It listed at $3.2 million and sold immediately for a cool $3 million.

In fifth place is Unit #1902 at Turnberry Tower in Arlington’s Rosslyn waterfront. The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath penthouse-level condo has 3,045 square feet of interior space, private elevator, floor-to-ceiling windows, gourmet kitchen and a private balcony with panoramic views. The asking price is $2,998,000.

Closing out April’s high-price list is Unit #101/102 at the perennially popular Watergate in Foggy Bottom. This rare and extremely large duplex has 5-bedrooms, 5-full and 2-half baths, a second “entertaining” kitchen, 4,505 square feet of interior space plus a mammoth 1,100 square foot garden terrace with convenient access to the swimming pool.
