It spans more than five downtown blocks in the Mount Vernon Triangle, and is home to luxury condos, apartment rentals, office towers, hotels, shops, restaurants, and a 1.5-acre park. This is CityCenterDC, likened by the New York Times to a modern-day Rockefeller Plaza, but in the Nation’s Capital rather than the Big Apple.

There was a bumper crop of new listings in August. The most expensive is Unit #1101 with an asking price of $2,950,000. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath penthouse has a spacious 2,676 square foot layout with soaring 12-foot ceilings and huge open living spaces. Walls of wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, a Euro-style open kitchen, and an extended private balcony add to the considerable allure.

Unit #405 came to market in August with a list price of $1,498,950. The 1,538 square-foot corner unit with three sunny exposures and massive windows has a delightful open kitchen recessed into a single wall. There are two primary bedroom suites, 2.5 baths, and wide white oak floors throughout. The condo overlooks terraced courtyards.

Unit #502 listed in August for $1,475,000. The corner apartment features two bedrooms, two baths, and 1,340 square feet of space, with a sun-drenched living room, giant windows, and city views. A gourmet kitchen with Molteni cabinetry is completely open to the combined living and dining area, and a large primary suite offers multiple custom closets and built ins.

Also new in August is Unit #801, a corner unit with one bedroom, 1.5 baths and a 945 square foot floorplan. Priced at $975,000, the condo offers a gourmet kitchen with built-in storage, a primary suite with a luxurious bath and bonus powder room, views of downtown DC, plus a washer and dryer.

Active since June, Unit #710 is listed at $1,095,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath flat has 1,124 square feet of modern living space with wide-plank pale oak floors. The design is open and filled with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows. An extended balcony is perfect for relaxing. Parking, in-unit washer and dryer, and extra storage are included.

Unit #813 is listed at $795,000. The oversized one-bedroom, 1.5-bath east-facing apartment has 940 square feet of living space, with wide-plank flooring and custom wall treatments. There is a big window bay, a built-in office nook, and a large bedroom with tons of closet space featuring an organizer system.

Unit #803 has been active since April, with an asking price of $739,999. The one-bedroom, one-bath flat has a roomy layout with 850 square feet of living space. Living, dining, and cooking areas are all within one open area. Giant sliders open out to a private balcony, perfect for morning coffee. Wide-plank floors, a gourmet kitchen with Corian counters, and a desk nook, add to the appeal.

Unit #812 listed in May for the competitive price of $660,000 and remains up for grabs. The one-bedroom, one-bath apartment has 635 square feet of living space. The turn-key flat has a private balcony with city views, and a gorgeous kitchen with Molteni cabinetry and panelized Bosch, Liebherr, and Miele appliances.

Unit #911 was reduced in August from $1,575,000 down to $1,495,000. The 1,452 square foot apartment has two bedrooms on opposite ends, 2.5 baths, and two separate balconies. The main living area has giant window walls, as well as a rebuilt corner work-from-home space with its own window. Two parking spaces convey.

Also featuring an August price reduction is Unit #702, from $1,495,000 down to $1,425,000. The luxury 1,340 square foot corner unit with nine-foot ceilings has two separate bedroom suites, bleached hardwood floors, an open glossy white gourmet kitchen, massive wraparound window walls, and an extended balcony. Two reserved parking spaces are included.

Unit #601 is pending with an expected September close date. Listed at $870,000, the oversized one-bedroom apartment comes with one bedroom, 1.5 baths, and a 945 square foot layout. The open living area has sunny exposures on two sides, custom wall treatments, and a glossy white kitchen along one wall. The large bedroom suite has a unique sitting bay with window.

After listing in June, Unit #510 went under contract in July and closed in August at $1,450,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath corner residence has an open main living area with a Euro-style kitchen set into one wall, and massive wraparound windows offering views of Chinatown’s Friendship Arch. Two balconies and two parking spaces add to the appeal.

Unit #1008 sold in August at its full asking price of $1,400,000. The 1,423 square-foot residence has two bedrooms and 2.5 baths, including a large primary suite with office nook, walk-in closet, and ensuite bath with twin sinks. A spacious private balcony is just the place to enjoy meals prepared in the Foster + Partners designed gourmet kitchen.

Withdrawn in August is Unit #1105, a penthouse-level apartment priced at $833,000, with one bedroom, 1.5 baths, and 814 square feet of sunny living space. A wide expanse of floor-to-ceiling windows affords cityscape views. The open gourmet woodgrain kitchen with white Caesar stone counters is adjacent a built-in desk/office cubby.

Unit #404 was also withdrawn in August. The 830 square foot apartment with one bedroom and 1.5 baths had been listed for $765,000. The glossy white Euro-style kitchen is set into a single wall with panelized stainless steel appliances. A desk nook is along the same extended wall. Parking is included.

There is no shortage of amenities at City Center, with a 24/7 front desk with concierge and porters, a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, party rooms, an executive business center, and a bar lounge. A spectacular roof deck features a lovely water feature. There are over 40 upscale retailers and restaurants, on-site, with lots more just outside the CityCenter bounds.
