City Center is a massive, 10-acre urban development in Downtown DC that epitomizes the concept of “live, work and play.” Constructed at the former Washington Convention Center site in the Mount Vernon Triangle, the upscale community includes offices, shops, restaurants, hotels and two upscale condominium towers known as the Residences at City Center.

Although no new listings came up during December, there are some intriguing available condos for sale. With a price tag of $914,900, this open residence has blonde wide-plank hardwood floors, a south-facing balcony and a contemporary built-in kitchen with all the gadgets.

Unit #1006 has been active since October at $679,900. The one-bed, one-bath apartment measures a roomy 722 square feet plus a long balcony. With pale hardwoods and a modern kitchen that includes Molteni cabinets and white Caesarstone counters, this is currently the lowest-priced residence for sale at City Center.

Unit #613 is a super-sized one-bed and one bath with 949 square feet on interior space. Featuring a bonus family room, wide-plank hardwoods and a sleek signature City Center kitchen with extended breakfast bar, this lovely apartment is listed at $799,000.

The most expensive available condo is Unit #505, priced at $1,995,000. This was originally two one-bedroom apartments that were reconstructed into one stunning residence with 2-beds, 2-full baths and 2-half baths. With 1,947 square feet of living space, this wide-open flat with its ultra-modern white-on-white kitchen comes with two parking spaces and two storage units.

Also still on the market is Unit #908 with 2-bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 1,423 square feet of space. This sun-drenched apartment with master suite, extended balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows was originally priced at $1,600,000 but has since dropped to $1,495,000.

One residence went under agreement in December: Unit #712. The 1,592-square foot residence has two en-suite bedrooms with baths plus an additional den with its own powder room. Also featured is a combination sunroom/balcony, wide-plank hardwoods, gourmet kitchen and two parking spaces. The asking price had been $1,395,000.

Unit #810 lies dormant after being withdrawn last month. The 2-bedroom corner penthouse with private rooftop deck had been listed for $2,650,000. Also, Unit #410 expired after more than a year on the market. The bright and modern 2-bed, 2-bath flat was priced at $1,495,000.

The Residences at City Center offer rooftop gardens, 24/7 front desk and concierge, fitness center, yoga studio and more. There is also an amazing range of upscale shops and restaurants on-site, as well as a 1.5 acre park. The prime Downtown location is also a huge advantage, with a dizzying array of museums, entertainment, bars, restaurants, the National Mall and, of course, the halls of political power.
