City Center | Market Pulse | January 2019

CityCenterDC is both massive and modern, a 10-acre community in the heart of Downtown DC featuring offices, upscale retailers, restaurants, hotels and two towers known as the Residences at CityCenter (also often spelled out as City Center). This Mount Vernon showcase development offers an unrivaled live, work and play experience.

The tail end of January brought a fresh new Life at the Top listing with Unit #913 which you can view here. The Foster + Partners-designed one-bedroom flat with 862 square feet of space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with solar shades, allowing natural light to bathe the white oak wide-plank hardwoods in a cool glow. Light gray finishes add to the subdued contemporary feel, as does the luxury kitchen with curved contours, white Caesarstone counters and Bosch and Miele stainless steel appliances. It is offered at $799,500.

Also still available is Unit #708 which came to market in November. The 2-bedrooms, 2-bath apartment has 944 square feet of space, blonde floors, a south-facing balcony and a signature CityCenter kitchen with all the gadgets. It also comes with two walk-in closets and extra storage. The list price is $914,900.

Unit #1006 was temporarily withdrawn from MLS at the end of January with the caveat that it could still be shown. The one-bedroom apartment has 772 square feet of space, hardwoods, a contemporary kitchen, balcony and built-ins, and had been listed for $679,900.

There is one unit currently pending, #613. The one-bedroom apartment with 949 square feet was listed at $799,000 and includes a bonus family room. Italian cabinets, wide-plank hardwoods, stainless steel appliances and built-ins are all part of the appeal.

The only closing in January was Unit #712 with 2-bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 1,592 square feet of space. Two en-suite bedrooms, a den, a large private balcony, a guest powder room and two garage parking spots help describe this roomy condo that listed for $1,495,000 and settled for $1,350,000.

Finally, Unit #908 has been withdrawn. The 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath luxury apartment listed for $1,425,000 at the beginning of January but was taken off MLS after only 28 days. The 1,423 square-foot corner unit has wraparound windows, a den and an extra-long balcony.

The Residences at CityCenter offer front desk, concierge and porter service as well as terraced rooftop gardens, fitness center, yoga studio, bar lounge and outdoor kitchens. The CityCenterDC community has a wealth of shopping and dining plus a 1.5-acre park. The Mt. Vernon neighborhood itself is famed for its museums, theaters, galleries and proximity to the White House.
