There is something for everyone when it comes to condominium living at City Center in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. Described in the New York Times as a modern day Rockefeller Center in Downtown Washington DC, the outdoor mall community covers five city blocks and is home to 216 condo units spread across two towers, along with a first-class hotel, offices, a 1.5-acre park, and more than 40 upscale retailers and restaurants. City Center feels like its own self-sustaining bubble community and it’s also right in DC’s epicenter, surrounded by so many other cultural attractions.
New to the market in May is Unit #810 with an asking price of $2,275,000. The 1,378 square foot condo with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths also has one of the largest private terraces in the building, a 1,100 square foot oasis with rustic wood beam floors and landscaping. The primary bedroom is ensuite with two walk-in closets and 1.5 baths. There is an option to purchase this turnkey unit fully furnished.
City Center’s priciest active listing is Unit #901/902 at $3,995,000. The custom integration of two side-by-side residences has resulted in a unique 2,816 square foot city home with four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and two private outdoor spaces including a large two-level turf terrace. Also worth noting is an incredible chef’s kitchen, a work-from-home office, and a walk-in temperature controlled wine cellar capable of holding 2,300 bottles.
Still available is Unit #502 with a list price of $1,385,000. The corner condo features two bedrooms, two baths and 1,340 square feet of space. Massive window walls offer impressive cityscape vistas while also inviting floods of natural light inside. The Euro-style kitchen hugs a single wall with panelized appliances, thus maximizing the open feeling of the living and dining area.
Listed at $1,345,000, Unit #909 is a sunny corner residence with two bedroom suites, 2.5 baths, and 1,395 square feet of living space. A welcoming front gallery leads into a wide and open main living area with massive windows along two sides. White oak flooring, motorized window shades, and an impressive gourmet kitchen that faces out toward the window wall are all part of the interior design.
Unit #301 is still up for grabs at $875,000. The super-sized one-bedroom, one-bath residence has exposures from three sides with stellar views of the mall. The 981 square foot condo was renovated with custom designed built-in furniture by award-winning architect Ernesto Santalla. The glossy white gourmet kitchen with its panelized appliances fits nicely into one corner, thus maximizing floor space.
Priced at $699,900, Unit #503 is a one-bedroom apartment with 1.5 baths and an 875 square foot layout. The intriguing open floorplan features a gourmet kitchen that fits seamlessly into the corner along with a desk area that is flush against the same wall. The spacious bedroom has a custom closet system, a spa-like ensuite bath, and a Juliet balcony.
After a previous price cut, Unit #710 entered Active Under Contract status in May. This means that the 1,370 square foot residence with two bedrooms and two baths is now pending with contingencies but can also be shown for backup offers. The list price of $1,350,000 includes two private terraces and two private parking spaces with EV charging.
After listing in April at $1,125,000, Unit #509 is also now in A/C status. The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with 1,148 square feet of living space is positioned adjacent a green roof and tranquil courtyard, allowing for lovely views from the huge windows. The finishes are very modern, including extra-wide white oak floors and a white-on-white Euro-style kitchen with panelized appliances.
Unit #712 is also currently pending after listing in April for $1,575,000. The 1,592 square foot corner condo gets tons of natural light from massive windows wrapping around the perimeter. This is one of the largest layouts at City Center, featuring European white oak floors, and a bonus den area that works nicely as a home office.
There were no closings at City Center in May.
Unit #514 has now been withdrawn from the market. The competitively priced one-bedroom flat with one bath and a generous 800 square foot layout had been listed at $650,000. Features included white oak floors, a glossy white panelized kitchen that hugs one wall, and a private balcony overlooking the courtyard.
Residents at City Center enjoy a wide array of amenities and conveniences, including staffed lobbies, concierge service, door attendants, multiple courtyards, roof gardens, and a state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga studio. Also included are community rooms, work centers with WiFi, wine storage, a lounge with wet bar, and garage parking. The outdoor mall’s boutique retailers and restaurants include Boss, Kate Spade, Centrolina, and Seven Reasons among many others.
