Described by its developers as Washington, DC’s destination for luxury expression, CityCenterDC (often referred to simply as City Center) is an outdoor mall and a whole lot more. The sprawling mixed-use community covers five city blocks in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood, with 216 upscale condo residences within two 12-story towers. There are also numerous shops, restaurants, a hotel, offices, and even a 1.5 acre park.
The sheer size of City Center usually means there are available condos for sale. Such was the case in November with two new listings. The first is Unit #1006 with an asking price of $1,535,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath corner apartment has spectacular views from giant wraparound windows, along with multiple balconies. The 1,460 foot layout is open, generous, and filled with natural light.
After being withdrawn last month, Unit #910 came back in November with a new, lower price of $990,000. The 1,124 square foot apartment features two bedrooms, two baths, an extended balcony, and a modern gourmet kitchen with Molteni white lacquer custom cabinetry, and panelized upscale appliances. Wide-plank white oaks floors, and Molteni closets systems add further appeal.
Still active is Unit #908, with a list price of $714,999. With one bedroom, 1.5 baths and an airy 860 square foot floorplan, this attractive flat has a completely open gourmet kitchen and a fun desk cubby. A bank of full height windows offers terrific city views, as well as inviting natural light inside. There are wide plank floors, and a large ensuite bedroom that is semi-open to a wall of hallway windows.
Unit #907 listed last month at $699,000 and is still available. The chic condo has one bedroom, one bath, wide plank white oak flooring, a private balcony, and an open glossy white kitchen with top of the line recessed appliances including a Liebherr fridge, Bosch oven, cooktop and microwave, and a Miele dishwasher.
Unit #912 came to market in October with one bedroom, one bath, and a competitive price tag of $599,995. The 635 square foot apartment has attractive hardwood floors, and a two-tone Foster + Partners open kitchen with white Caesarstone counters and bleached wood cabinetry. A sunny balcony is the perfect spot for a cup of morning joe.
Also in the one-bedroom department is Unit #607, currently listed at $685,850. The 773 square foot residence overlooks lovely interior courtyards as well as a Zen-like water feature. A welcoming L-shaped floorplan, open living spaces, and a wall-hugging Euro-style feature are also part of the package, along with wide-plank floors, large windows, plenty of closet space, and secure parking.
Offered at $688,000, Unit #803 has a 787 square foot layout with large windows, wide plank floors, and an open living, dining, and cooking space. There is a private terrace, and the unit is also available fully furnished if the buyer chooses. Add a gourmet kitchen with Molteni cabinetry, panelized Bosch appliances, Corian counters and breakfast bar, a built-in desk nook, and secure parking.
There was no new sales activity in November at City Center, but Unit #702 is still in Active under Contract status as of this report. That means that the condo is pending with contingencies. There is a fairly lengthy timeline for the transaction, with a closing not anticipated until January 2024. The two-bedroom, two-bath corner residence with 1,340 square feet of living space was priced at $1,425,000.
CityCenterDC was delivered with great fanfare in 2013 and has been described in the New York Times as a modern day Rockefeller Center in Washington, DC. There are over 40 upscale retailers and restaurants onsite. Condo residents enjoy staffed lobbies in each of condo towers, including concierge service, and doormen. There are two roof parks, lovely interior terraced courtyards, a fitness center, yoga studio, wine storage, a bar lounge, community rooms, and business centers.
