The highest price per square foot sale in December was also DC Metro’s top closing price for the month. Unit #4E at 1055 High in Georgetown has four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, an office with custom built-ins and a very spacious 4,081 sq. ft. layout. The penthouse sold for $5,100,000, representing $1,249.69 per square foot. This was the first closing at the high-end address since July 2015. The new owners will enjoy a wraparound wall of windows, a massive modern live, dine and cook space, and an extraordinary private roof deck with views of the Potomac River. There’s a tie for second place with a building that has been mentioned more than once in this month’s sales data. Units #4D and #6D at the stylish 22 West in the West End neighborhood each sold for $2,150,000 (fifth place in the highest sales price category). The two swanky flats also had identical sizes, with three bedrooms, three baths and 1,947 sq. ft. of interior space, hence a dead heat at $1,093.04 per square foot.

Third place goes to Unit #315 at Logan Station in the Logan Circle neighborhood. The luxurious penthouse with two bedrooms, a den and 2.5 baths has 1,600 sq. ft. of living space spread out over two stories. There are also private balconies at each level. The closing price of $1,125,000 translates to $992.06 per square foot. In fourth place is Unit #PH16 at the Residences at Market Square

in the Penn Quarter. The lovely apartment with two bedrooms, two bedrooms and a sweeping wraparound terrace has 1,383 sq. ft. of interior room and sold for $1,335,000, thus equaling $965.29 per square foot.

Next up is Unit #720/721 at the Watergate in Foggy Bottom. This Life at the Top property nabbed two honors; the third-highest sales price at $2,300,000 and fifth-highest price per square foot at $964.36 per square foot. The 2,385 square foot floorplan has been extensively remodeled, and come with three bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a beautiful curved terrace featuring stellar Potomac River views. Closing out the list is Unit #5C at Wardman Tower in Woodley Park. The second-highest sales price at $2,900,000 with its spacious 3,173 square foot layout equals $913.96 per sq. ft.
