Topping the highest sales price per square foot in October is Unit #3W at 1055 High in Georgetown, just about a block from the Potomac River. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence boasts a 3,538 square foot floorplan, and was also the second-highest condo sale for the month at $4,400,000. That turns out to be a sturdy $1,243.64 per sq. ft. for the sunny property with exposures on three sides. Features include an open gourmet kitchen, a den with a fireplace, and a wonderful private terrace. Unit #PH2E at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown came in second in this category, and also nabbed the highest overall sales price in October. The 6,577 sq. foot, two-story penthouse with four bedrooms, a study and an office, closed at full price just three days after listing, for a whopping $7,850,000, translating to $1,193.55 per square foot. Three private terraces combine for an additional 2,800 square feet of outdoor space.

Unit #23 at Westlight in the West End takes home third place honors in both the cost per measurement and overall sales price categories. Unit #PH19 at VIO on The Wharf takes fourth place in the price per sq. ft. sweepstakes as well as the fifth-highest sales figure. The two-level penthouse with 1,530 square feet of living space sold for $1,775,000, equaling $1,160.13 per square foot. The super stylish pad also has a private roof deck.

Coming in fifth is Unit #701 at the Residences at Market Square in Penn Quarter. The 1,290 sq. ft. apartment with two bedrooms and two baths was recently renovated from the studs out by renowned designer Thomas Pheasant. The residence sold for $1,440,000, or $1,116.28 per square foot. The many features include a Bulthaup kitchen, an office and a large private terrace. Closing out the list is Unit #8B at 22 West in the West End. The one-bedroom apartment with a den and two baths offers 1,215 square feet of space and sold for $1,185,000, translating to $975.31 per sq. ft. Massive window walls, a Euro-style gourmet kitchen and a private balcony also lend to the appeal.
