The highest sales price for a condominium in the DC area in January, goes to Unit #103 at Somerset House in Friendship Heights. Somerset House is part of the posh gated Parc Somerset community with its 17-acre country club-style setting. This three-bedroom, four-bath apartment with 3,623 square feet of living space listed for $3,150,000 and sold for $2,800,000. Among the many features are marble floors, a fireplace, a library and a beautifully appointed owner’s suite with two baths and its own private patio. Next is Unit #60 at 3303 Water Street in Georgetown. Not only did the 1,725 square foot residence capture the second-highest sales price at $1,925,000, it was also the highest price per square foot at $1,115.94. With one bedroom, a sun room and two full baths, the apartment offers stunning views of the Potomac River.

Third place goes to Unit #608 at The Weslie in the Rosslyn waterfront neighborhood. The two-level condo with three bedrooms and 2.5 baths listed for $1,750,000 and sold for $1,700,000. Soaring ceilings with lattice beams, an open gourmet kitchen and a large private terrace with 180-degree views of DC, Arlington and the Potomac, add to the appeal. Fourth place goes to Unit #1210 at Turnberry Tower in Rosslyn. The fully renovated two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment was offered for $1,675,000 and closed at $1,600,000. A private elevator opens to reveal herringbone hardwood floors and huge window walls. A sweeping balcony overlooks the cityscape, while the kitchen and baths have been remodeled into magazine worthy examples of modernism.

In fifth place is Unit #2B at the Ritz-Carlton West End in the West End neighborhood. The 2,439 square foot apartment with three bedrooms and 2.5 baths listed for $1,750,000 and sold for $1,500,000. Among the many features are Brazilian Cherry floors, custom wall treatments, a formal dining room and a large private terrace. Closing out the highest priced sales category is Unit #210 at The Historic Row at 1745N in Dupont Circle. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment sold for full price at $1,275,000. It also notched two other honors as the fifth-highest price per square foot at $848.87, as well as being part of six-way tie in the sales-to-list ratio at 100 percent.
