Ritz-Carlton West End | Market Pulse | December 2020

The Residences at Ritz-Carlton West End are synonymous with the famed luxury brand, partnering condominiums with hotels. The West End neighborhood is one of two Washington locations, the other being Georgetown. The chain of full-service hospitality extends around the globe, providing elite white gloves living, whether for temporary visits or permanent homes. The West End locale features two residential towers flanking a central hotel, with a lovely interior courtyard and waterfall.

There were no new listings at the Ritz-Carlton West End in December. There are still availabilities however, including Unit #5A, a renovated three-bedroom apartment offered at $2,395,000. With 2,845 square feet of living space, the residence has a tiled foyer transitioning to Brazilian Cherry herringbone floors. Features include a fireplace in the living room, a bonus family room and a beautifully remodeled kitchen.

Unit #2B is priced at $1,750,000 and comes with three bedrooms, 3.5 baths and 2,439 square feet of living space. The many features include herringbone floors in the living spaces and bedrooms, with tile in the gourmet kitchen and the luxurious baths. A long, formal dining room adds a nice touch, as do custom wall treatments, roomy sleeping quarters, walk-in closets and a large private terrace.

Listed at $1,495,000 is Unit #2D, an elegant city home with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a 1,760 square foot layout. There’s plenty of outdoor space as well, with two private balconies and a large terrace that looks out over the courtyard and waterfall. Brazilian Cherry herringbone floors are in the main living areas. Custom finishes, marble baths and a gourmet kitchen add to the appeal.

Unit #4G is still up for grabs at $1,049,000. The 1,147 square foot apartment comes with an owner’s suite, two full baths and a second bedroom that can serve nicely as a work-from-home office. The living area is bright and spacious with a gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows allowing lots of light. An adjacent dining area has large built-ins. Or, take your meals out on a large private terrace!

Still available after listing in October is Unit #3L. Priced at $990,000, the one-bedroom, 1.5-bath flat has a contemporary look with dark hardwood floors. A sleek remodeled open kitchen features a white marble waterfall island, marble slab backsplash and stainless steel Viking appliances. A large bedroom has been customized with built-in closets, pendant lighting, a built-in desk and a wall of windows.

It is rare to find a competitively priced penthouse in Washington, much less one at the Ritz-Carlton. But Unit #PH1F is exactly that—a one-bedroom, two-bath luxury birds nest priced at $829,000. With 978 square feet of space, a giant wall of windows, blonde hardwood floors and matching built-ins, this stylish pad is worth a second look. There’s even a cool office cubby!

Unit #7D is now in active under contract status, meaning that it is pending with contingencies, and can still be shown. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment had been reduced in price from $1,250,000 to $1,195,000 before receiving an accepted offer. With 1,870 square feet of living space, this handsome residence has Brazilian Cherry floors throughout, with huge windows and a modern gourmet kitchen.

Two apartments were withdrawn in December. Unit #PH2E is a spectacular penthouse with 4,008 square feet of living space and three private terraces, had relisted in November with a $3,795,000 price tag. Unit #7D with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths is the other withdrawn apartment. It had been listed at $1,250,000.

Unit #2C expired at the end of the year. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence has 1,806 square feet of living space spread out over two levels, and was listed at $1,299,000.

Unit #PH2C closed in December for $2,200,000 after listing for $2,299,500. The renovated two-story penthouse has two bedrooms, a family room, three baths and 2,457 square feet of interior space. White oak floors, a marble fireplace and a modern kitchen with white quartz waterfall counters are among the many features. There’s also three private outdoor spaces, including a stunning rooftop deck.

Known for its white gloves service, the Residences at Ritz-Carlton West End offers housekeeping, room service and private chefs. There’s also a staffed front desk, concierge, a heated indoor pool and priority access to Equinox Sports Club. The complex is home to ground level businesses, including CVS, SoulCycle and Sweetgreen, the latter being a destination for healthy seasonal meals. And if you’re in the mood for movies, Landmark’s West End Cinema is just steps away, as are a number of popular local restaurants.
