Nicely located in the West End neighborhood, the Ritz-Carlton West End is one of three Ritz-Carlton addresses in the greater Washington, DC area. The others are the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, and the brand new Ritz-Carlton Chevy Chase. With its famed hospitality branding and full service amenities, the West End location combines a central hotel element with two condominium towers and street level retail. Active listing opportunities at the Ritz-Carlton West End hit a bit of a lull at the end of the year, with no new listings in December, and only one available residence at the current moment.
Unit #8E is listed at $2,799,000, with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There’s lots of living space for this particular condo, with a 3,153 square foot layout as well as a private outdoor terrace. A giant tiled foyer with a stunning cove ceiling segues into a truly expansive main living area with polished wood floors, a wall of windows, and a standalone fireplace. There’s a formal dining room, a family room, and a big gourmet kitchen with granite counters, sinks on two sides, a wine fridge, and other high-end appliances. The expansive primary suite is also quite noteworthy with tons of closet space and custom organizers, and an ensuite bath.
Unit #PH3C was withdrawn from the market in mid-December. The two-level penthouse had been offered at $1,689,000. The floorplan features 1,795 square feet of space across two stories, with private terraces at each level. There are two bedroom suites with custom wool-silk carpeting, 2.5 baths, dark wood floors in the living areas, and a stone accent wall in the main living room with an inset fireplace as well as an inset flat-screen television. The L-shaped gourmet kitchen is well-equipped, and there is also a formal dining room as well as a bonus family room. We’ll keep tabs to see if this one comes back to active status in 2024.
There was one sale in December. Unit #2D with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths listed for $1,850,000 and ultimately closed for $15,000 over asking, at $1,865,000. The 1,795 square foot residence is elegantly appointed with a gracious front entry gallery with custom built-ins that branches out in multiple directions. Brazilian Cherry herringbone floors are found in the Chef’s kitchen and all the living areas, including hallways, the living room, and a formal dining room with designer wallpaper. Other features include a large primary suite, and two private outdoor spaces including a very expansive patio.
Also worth noting is a closing in November. Unit #5A with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths sold for $2,450,000. The 2,845 square foot residence boasts giant windows, refinished Brazilian Cherry floors, a gas fireplace, a formal dining room, and a large front gallery with tile flooring. The remodeled gourmet kitchen is a showstopper with its white-on-white cabinetry and counters, and upscale appliances. There’s also a sizeable family room with a large open entry adjacent to the main living room, and three garage parking spaces.
Residents at the Ritz-Carlton West End enjoy numerous amenities, including room service from the hotel restaurant, options for maid service and private catering, a staffed front desk, concierge, porters, a doorman, a courtyard with a dramatic waterfall feature, and direct access to the Equinox Sports Club with its heated indoor pool. Popular restaurants are just steps away, as is the West End Cinema.
