Ritz-Carlton West End | Market Pulse | February 2024

As part of the longstanding luxury hospitality brand, the Ritz-Carlton West End is a mixed-use residential community featuring a hotel, two condo towers, and street-level retail. Located in the West End neighborhood, this is one of three Ritz-Carlton addresses in the Washington Metro area, the others being in Georgetown and Chevy Chase. The West End location is renowned for its exemplary full service amenities, as well as its spacious and elegant floorplans. Despite being home to 162 condo residences, new listings can sometimes be rare.

February did usher in one new listing at the Ritz-Carlton West End, with Unit #PH3C offered at $1,689,000. This two-story penthouse with 1,795 square feet of living space has a main living level with a 60-inch fireplace encased in artisanal stone tile, dark hardwoods, a gourmet kitchen with all the bells and whistles, a powder room, and a formal dining room. Two luxurious bedroom suites are downstairs, with custom wool-silk carpeting and elegant ensuite baths. It all ties together nicely with dual private terraces overlooking the courtyard and its waterfall. We noted this unit as being withdrawn from the market last month, it is now available again.

Also still active is Unit #8E with an asking price of $2,799,000. This is an exceptionally large apartment with 3,153 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. An expansive tiled front gallery with a cove ceiling segues into a massive main living area with walls of windows and a standalone fireplace. The showcase kitchen boasts stone counters, panelized appliances, sinks on two sides, and a wine fridge. There’s also a formal dining room, a family room, a private terrace, and a laundry room with side-by-side washer and dryer, a sink, and cabinets. The expansive primary suite boasts a wall of custom closets, a dressing area with even more closets, and a luxurious ensuite marble bath.

The most recent closing was back in December, with Unit #2D selling for $1,865,000. This was a $15,000 over-asking bid. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo has a spacious 1,795 square foot layout, introduced by a gracious front gallery that branches out in multiple directions. Brazilian cherry herringbone floors are featured throughout the main living, dining, and cooking areas, with cream carpet in the bedrooms. Also notable is the formal dining room with designer wallpaper, a chef’s kitchen with all the bells and whistles, a larger owners’ suite, and two private outdoor spaces including a big patio that’s perfect for barbeques.

Those fortunate enough to live at the Ritz-Carlton West End enjoy refined service and amenities, including room service from the hotel restaurant plus options for maid service and private catering. The front lobby has a staffed desk, concierge service, porters, and a doorman. The tranquil inner courtyard offers a dramatic waterfall feature. Residents also have priority access to the Equinox Sports Club with its heated indoor pool, without having to leave the premises. Popular restaurants are just steps away, as is the West End Cinema.
