Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | April 2020

Located by the Potomac River in Arlington’s Rosslyn waterfront neighborhood is Turnberry Tower, the tallest residential building in the entire DC Metro region. The modern 26-story condominium was designed by ACG Architecture with a stunning curvilinear glass and steel outer skin. Residents enjoy spectacular views, from the Arlington and Washington skylines to the river itself. While no new listings appeared in April, there are still a number of condos for sale at this popular address.

Unit #2204 is available at $2,895,00, reflecting a $100K drop last month. This lovely 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence with a bonus den last sold four years ago and has gone through numerous upgrades since that time. Direct access private elevator doors open to a foyer, leading into large open spaces. Marble tile floors run throughout the unit. A gorgeous open gourmet kitchen features Miele appliances recessed into gleaming wood cabinetry. Also notable is the exquisite marble master bath, as well as a laundry room and a 500-foot balcony with river views.

Unit #712 came to market in March. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment is on the quiet North corner of the building and is in mint condition. With 1,742 square feet of living space, this inviting flat is listed at $1,400,000. Among the features are a private elevator, wide-plank hardwood floors throughout, backlit tray ceilings, a sweeping balcony and a gourmet kitchen with Snaidero cabinets and SubZero and Miele appliances. A huge master suite includes a sitting room and an enormous en-suite marble spa bathroom.

Also still active since its March listing is Unit #312, priced at $1,180,000. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath “D-Model” offers 1,742 square feet of stylish living space, with a private elevator, hardwood floors and a huge private balcony. The open contemporary kitchen has granite counters and Snaidero cherry cabinets, plus Miele and Sub-Zero appliances. The master bedroom suite has a sitting area, two walk-in closets and an extraordinary marble bath with twin vanities, Jacuzzi tub and frameless shower.

Unit #409 listed in February and has since dropped in price to $1,155,000. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with 1,642 square feet of living space comes with a private elevator, warm hardwood floors and an open gourmet kitchen with granite counters and upscale appliances set into Snaidero cabinetry. The bright and airy apartment also has a huge balcony with peeks of the river.

April was certainly the month for memorable closings at Turnberry Tower! Unit #PH10 sold at full price for $2,350,000. The stunning 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath penthouse with 2,267 square feet of living space has new wide-plank hardwood floors and a sweeping balcony with access points from all rooms, and views up the Potomac River.

Unit #702 also sold at full price, for $1,500,000. The “F-model” with 2-bedrooms, 2.5-baths and a den and private elevator, with the bedroom suites positioned at opposite ends for maximum privacy. The apartment listed in February, went under contract just a day later, and closed in April.

Unit #1111, also an “F-model,” listed for $1,825,000 and sold for $1,750,000. The 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment has a bonus den, private elevator and a very spacious 2,229 square foot layout. A private elevator, marble and wood floors, and a big balcony with cityscape views add to the appeal.

Unit #210 listed for $1,295,000 In April and closed almost immediately for $1,240,000. The 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence has dark wood flooring throughout, private elevator, a classic Turnberry open kitchen Snaidero cabinetry and a huge private balcony.

Also worth noting, Unit #804 went active in April but was taken off market temporarily the very next day. We will keep track of the situation. The 1-bedroom apartment with 2-baths, a den and private elevator, had been listed at $1,200,000.

Those living at Turnberry Tower enjoy a staffed font desk, concierge service, complimentary valet parking, a heated indoor swimming pool, screening room with catering kitchen and secure parking. For those who prefer rapid rail to driving, the Metro is within easy strolling distance. Rosslyn is a historic community that was once known for its ferry landing and gambling halls. These days, the “Gateway to Arlington” is modern and constantly evolving, with a new redevelopment phase aimed at adding more restaurants, a boathouse and the new Rosslyn Highlands Park.
