Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | August 2020

Perched near the Potomac River, Turnberry Tower is the tallest condominium in the Washington Metro area. That translates into some pretty amazing views for residents. The sleek, 26-story structure was designed by ACG Architects, and is located in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. The building is also known for its many amenities, including a staffed front desk, concierge service, valet parking, a heated indoor swimming pool, a screening room with catering kitchen and secure parking.

There were several new listings at Turnberry Tower in August, beginning with Unit #2408. Listed at $2,495,000, the spacious residence has two bedrooms, a den, two full baths plus one half-bath, 2,039 square feet of living space plus a private elevator! You can also add marble tile floors, a fantastic open kitchen, custom wall treatments, a laundry room and a new marble master bath with a glass surround steam shower. Also noteworthy is the 400 square foot wraparound balcony with views of the river.

Also new in August is Unit #1210, a one-of-a-kind apartment with a complete makeover. Priced at $1,675,000, this designer condo has two bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 1,814 square feet of living space. Hickory herringbone floors are in the living area and foyer, with wide-plank hickory floors in the bedrooms. A private elevator, amazing modern custom kitchen with marble waterfall counters, large private balcony and magazine worthy bathrooms add to the considerable allure.

Listing in August for $1,525,000, Unit #1601 has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,754 square feet of space. Knotty blonde hardwood floors run throughout the living areas. Features include direct elevator access, an open kitchen with Snaidero cabinetry, a laundry room, floor-to-ceiling windows and an oversized master bedroom with a sitting area and en-suite marble bath. Unit #810 also came on the market in August. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath flat offers 1,814 square feet of living space for $1,495,000. The final new listing for August is Unit #1708. With one bedroom, 1.5 baths and 1,312 square feet of living space, this apartment has been customized so as to offer constant enjoyment of panoramic views of the Potomac and Georgetown. Wide-plank flooring, a private terrace and an open gourmet kitchen with Italian Snaidero Cherrywood cabinets plus Miele and Sub-Zero appliances, add to the appeal.

There are multiple active listings at Turnberry Tower that have been reduced in price. It begins with Unit #2309, which is now available for $2,799,000. The sky-high apartment boasts two bedrooms, 3.5 baths and 2,655 square feet of living space. A large den with built-ins and full en-suite bath can be used as a third bedroom. Other features include a private elevator, marble tile floors, custom wall treatments and a sweeping balcony with Potomac River views. Includes a large laundry room and two parking spaces.

Unit #712 has been reduced from $1,400,000 down to $1,350,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath mint condition apartment enjoys 1,742 square feet of space on the quiet north corner of the building. Features include a private elevator, wide-plank hardwood floors, backlit tray ceilings, a sweeping balcony and a gourmet kitchen with Snaidero cabinets and SubZero and Miele appliances. A huge master suite includes a sitting room and an enormous en-suite marble spa bathroom.

Unit #406 has seen multiple price reductions since June, with the most recent drop in August. The apartment with direct elevator access is now listed at $848,998 and has a 1,404 square foot layout, with one huge master bedroom, a den with pocket doors that can function as additional sleeping space, plus two full baths. Originally listed for $1,200,000, Unit #804 was reduced to $1,158,000 in July. Unit #409 has been reduced multiple times, including in August. The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with 1,642 square feet of space is now listed at $1,130,000. The bright and airy unit also has a huge balcony with peeks of the river.

Unit #2301 is now pending. The spectacular penthouse originally listed for $4,395,000, but was reduced all the way down to $3,375,000. With three bedrooms and 4.5 baths, this giant residence offers 4,447 square feet of luxurious space. Included is a private elevator, media room, office and a sweeping balcony that offers fantastic views of the Potomac River, Washington and Arlington.

Unit #1011 went into active-under-contract status in August, meaning that it is pending with contingencies but can still be shown for backup offers. The 2,229 square foot flat with two bedrooms and a den, is listed at $1,799,000. The glossy gourmet kitchen looks straight out of a magazine, and the marble bathrooms are lavish indeed.

There was one closing in August. Unit #703 was priced at $1,450,000 and sold for $1,400,000. The two-bedroom apartment has 2.5 baths and 1,803 square feet of living space. With a private elevator and a combination of tile and hardwood floors, the spacious apartment also boasts genuine floor-to-ceiling windows, an open gourmet kitchen, marble baths and a large private terrace.

Rosslyn is often referred to as the Gateway to Arlington, and is the first of several urban villages along the trendy Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor. Popular bars, restaurants, shops and entertainment are on full display, from the waterfront and all along the corridor itself with its multiple Metro stops. Residents at Turnberry Tower can easily drive into Washington via the nearby Key Bridge. Additionally, the Rosslyn Metro is an easy stroll away.
