Turnberry Tower is the tallest residential building in Washington Metro and one of the most luxurious as well. The sleek 26-story tower was designed by Robert M. Swerdroe and enjoys a prime waterfront location in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. Those fortunate enough to have balconies facing the Potomac River have prime and highly coveted seats each year for Washington’s July 4 fireworks.

Listed on January 1, Unit #1111 has already been reduced! The prestigious “F” model with 2-bedrooms, a den and 2.5-baths was originally priced at $1,825,000 but has since dropped to $1,775,000. There is 2,229 square feet of living space, with two bedrooms positioned for maximum privacy. The den can easily be transformed to a third sleeping space. Direct elevator access, a gourmet kitchen, laundry room and large balcony add to the appeal.

Unit #2309 is the most expensive new listing at Turnberry Tower at $2,969,000. The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence has a den, private elevator, Italian marble tile floors, exquisite wall treatments and a sweeping balcony with picture perfect Potomac River views. This showcase apartment has memorable touches throughout, such as a beautiful and completely open gourmet kitchen, incredibly luxurious marble baths, a laundry room with kitchenette, etched glass pocket doors, fireplaces and custom lighted closet organizers from Capital Closets. Two large parking spaces and storage convey.

Unit #1712 came to market in January, priced at $1,525,000. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment has a spacious open floorplan with 1,742 square feet of space. Wide plank hardwood floors, giant window walls, a huge balcony with city and river views and an open gourmet kitchen with Sub-Zero and Miele appliances set into stunning Snaidero cabinets, are just part of what’s offered here. Also featured is private elevator access, a master bedroom suite with sitting area and marble spa bathroom, walk-in closets, laundry, reserved parking and storage.

Also new in January is Unit #212, with 2-bedrooms, 2-baths, 1,752 square feet of space and a $1,200,000 asking price. Private elevator, marble floors, open gourmet kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows and a sweeping private terrace are on full display. The large master bedroom suite with sitting area, huge walk-in closet and marble bath is at one end of the layout while the second bedroom, also with en-suite bath, is at the other end. In-unit laundry room, one parking space and storage are included.

Unit #2009 has a second significant price decrease and is now available for $2,690,000. The spacious penthouse has 2-bedrooms, 3.5-baths, a den and 2,655 square feet of living space. Features include a private elevator, an open gourmet kitchen with Sub-Zero and Miele appliances, luxurious marble baths and an extra-long curved balcony with stunning views of the Potomac River and Key Bridge. Also included is storage and two private parking spaces.

Unit #1902 went under contract with contingencies in January. Priced at $2,948,000, the super-sized 19th floor penthouse has a 3,045 square foot floorplan with 3-bedrooms, 3.5-baths and a den/office. The elegant apartment features a private elevator, hardwood floors, walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, a modern open gourmet kitchen with Snaidero cabinets and Sub-Zero and Miele appliances, and an extended balcony accessible from multiple parts of the residence.

There has already been four closings in the first month of the year! The most expensive of the group, Unit #1910, listed for $2,349,000 and sold for $2,210,000. The 2-bedroom, den and 2.5-bath apartment has 2,405 square feet of living space and a giant terrace with panoramic views of the Potomac River and Arlington. Although Turnberry Tower residences often have marble tile floors, this unit has striking new hardwood throughout. Included is a walk-in laundry and two parking spaces.

Unit #1509 listed for $1,299,000 and closed at $1,225,000. The 1,642 square foot flat has 1-bedroom, 2-bath plus a den. Features include a private elevator, custom wall treatments, walnut herringbone floors, dramatic coffered and tray ceilings, a balcony with river views and a gourmet kitchen with Sub-Zero and Miele appliances. Built-in speakers, recessed lighting, a very luxurious master bath and walk-in closets add to the appeal.

Unit #1706 listed for $960,000 and sold at full price. The 1-bedroom, 2-bath apartment has a roomy 1,404 square foot floorplan with huge windows and an open gourmet kitchen. Other features include hardwood floors, direct elevator access, recessed lighting and a large balcony with Arlington views, as well as peeks of the river.

The final closing in January was Unit #306. The 1-bedroom, 2-bath flat has 1,404 square feet of living space, and sold for $821,600. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows allows natural light to bathe richly-toned hardwood floors in a warm, inviting glow. There’s also a den, marble baths, a balcony and a gourmet kitchen with appliances set into Snaidero wood cabinetry.

Turnberry Tower has tons of amenities for its residents, with a staffed font desk, concierge, complimentary valet parking, a heated indoor swimming pool, screening room with catering kitchen and secure parking. The Rosslyn Metro is within easy strolling distance.
