Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | November 2021

Ideally located by the Potomac River in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood, Turnberry Tower is a glittering luxury condominium with a modern curvilinear shape. The building is part of the global Turnberry brand, and enjoys a stellar reputation for full service amenities, not to mention spectacular views. The popularity of the address can sometimes result in few active listings, however. This is the case in November, with no new listings. Fortunately, there are still some great active opportunities left from previous months.

Unit #2311 is a spectacular penthouse offered at $3.3 million. Entering from a private elevator into a large foyer with custom wall treatments, you’ll quickly notice just how large the 3,278 square foot apartment is. There’s three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and an absolutely massive open living area with full height built-ins and giant window walls boasting panoramic views of the Potomac River, all the way across to Georgetown. Step out onto the wraparound private terrace and the extraordinary vistas continue. Other highlights include a gourmet kitchen and a huge owners’ suite with giant walk-in closets and an en-suite bath with wall-to-wall marble.

Still available is Unit #1002 with two bedrooms, a den that works nicely as a home office or library, 2.5 baths and a 2,227 square foot layout. This F-Model is currently listed at $1,680,000, after a $60,000 price reduction back in October. Step out from the private elevator into a foyer with marble tile floors and enjoy the elegant design, augmented by millwork and tray ceilings. The large gourmet kitchen has glossy Snaidero Italian cabinetry, with panelized upscale appliances and a center island. A wine cooler stores over 80 bottles. A gas fireplace, formal dining room, laundry and spacious balcony are among other features.

The other active listing is Unit #205, priced at $850,000. The one-bedroom apartment with an open den and 1.5 baths has plenty of room to stretch out, with 1,322 square feet of interior space. A semi-open gourmet kitchen with Snaidero custom cabinetry, granite counters and panelized appliances has plenty of space to roam around as you cook meals. Wide-plank floors and a huge private terrace are among the many features. The bedroom suite enjoys balcony access, as well a huge marble en-suite bath with twin-sink vanity, deep soaking spa tub and a frameless shower.

Unit #1902 went into Active under Contract status in November, meaning that it’s pending with contingencies. Priced at $3.2 million, the stunning corner residence has three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a den/office, and a very spacious 3,045 square foot layout. There’s also a private elevator, a full in-unit laundry room, new hardwood floors, and a marble foyer. Light-toned hardwood floors run through the apartment. A huge owners’ suite has a walk-in closet as big as some bedrooms! A large balcony has unobstructed west-facing views.

Also entering Active under Contract status in November is Unit #1807, listed at $1,030,000. The large one-bedroom apartment has a bonus den/office, two full baths and 1,405 square feet of living space. Cocoa colored hardwood floors run throughout the roomy condo. Other features include a huge private balcony with Potomac River views, an open kitchen Snaidero cabinetry, Miele and Sub-Zero appliances, and elegant marble baths.

Unit #1612 remains under contract, with a closing anticipated at the very end of December. The two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 1,742 square feet of space had been listed at $1,445,000. Features include direct elevator access, exquisite views of the Potomac River from the balcony, wide-plank floors, and an incredible master suite.

There were two closings in November, including Unit #810 which listed for $1,395,000 and sold for over-asking at $1,411,000. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment with 1,814 sq. ft. of interior space is located in the desirable West side of the building. Features include direct elevator service, pristine hardwood floors and two private terraces. Upgrades include a built-in Sonos speaker system, Lutron motorized shades and Control4home automation.

The other November sale is Unit #1003 which listed at $1,440,000 and closed at $1,425,000. The renovated two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment has lovely new hardwood floors and a new kitchen with black quartz counters, Wolf, Sub-Zero and Miele appliances, new cabinetry that matches the hardwood floors, as well as a matching built-in credenza with bar. A large balcony offers great city views.

Residents at Turnberry Tower enjoy a staffed front desk plus concierge service and complimentary valet parking. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in an atrium-like setting, a lounge with bar and billiards, a screening room with catering kitchen, and secure parking. For those who prefer rapid rail to driving, the Metro is within easy strolling distance. Rosslyn is a historic community that was once known for its ferry landing and gambling halls. These days, the “Gateway to Arlington” is the first of five trendy urban villages along the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor.
