Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | October 2019

Located just a couple blocks from the Potomac River in the Rosslyn waterfront neighborhood is the tallest residential building in the entire Washington area. Turnberry Tower with its sleek glass and steel structure stands 26 stories and was designed by noted architect Robert M. Swerdroe. The building is famed for its incredible views—especially those apartments with river-facing balconies!

New to the market in October is Unit #1902—a 19th floor penthouse listed at $2,998,000 and offering 3-bedrooms, 3.5-baths, a den/office that can be used as a fourth bedroom and a super-sized 3,045 square foot layout. Other features include a private elevator, warm hardwood floors, walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, a modern open gourmet kitchen with Snaidero cabinets and Sub-Zero and Miele appliances and an extended balcony accessible from multiple parts of the residence.

Reduced in price for the second time in as many months is Unit #2009. The luxurious apartment with 2-bedrooms, 3.5-baths, a den and 2,655 square feet of space was originally listed at $2,890,000 and is now available for $2,790,000. That’s a $100K drop! Listed in September, Unit #1509 now has a price decrease. Unit #510 went under contract with contingencies in October, and is scheduled to close in December. Listed at $1,348,000, the 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence has 1,840 square feet of living space, a private elevator and a combination of marble and hardwood floors. Also featured is a modern open kitchen, tray ceilings and a nice big balcony.

Also pending is the spectacular Unit #TS01 with a November close date. The penthouse tower suite with 3-en suite bedrooms, 4.5-baths and 4,447 square feet of space features a modern renovation by architect Salo Levinas. The asking price was $4,995,000 for the giant residence with three levels and multiple private terraces featuring unparalleled views of the Potomac River and beyond.

Unit #PH08 closed in October. The 25th floor penthouse with 2-bedrooms, 2-baths and 2,039 square feet of room listed for $2.1 million and closed for $2 million. Features include hardwood floors, private elevator, 11-foot ceilings, a custom kitchen and a dining room with large windows looking out to the living area. A private balcony with river views stretched the length of the unit.

Also closing in October was Unit #1202. Priced at $1,795,000, the 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment with a bonus den closed at $1,625,000. It was only on the market for 18 days before going under contract. Features include elevator, pale hardwood floors, a formal dining room, laundry room, balcony and 2,227 square feet of living space.

Turnberry Tower has a fully staffed front desk with concierge, a heated indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, screening room with catering kitchen and secure parking. For those who prefer public transit, the Rosslyn Metro is an easy stroll away.
