Located at 1600 Clarendon Boulevard, along the trendy Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, are the Wooster and Mercer Lofts. Developed by Addo and designed by Cunningham Quill Architects, the highly popular condo community combines retro brick warehouse-style facades with modern industrial luxury finishes. Among the intriguing interior touches are massive factory-style windows and 140 year-old brick accents repurposed from the original Children’s Museum in Washington, DC. Available listings at this desirable Rosslyn address, however, can be scarce.
No new condominiums came to market in December, with just one available property overall. Unit #M604 listed November 23, with a price of $999,000, and has since been reduced to $949,000. It now has another cut, down to $929,000! This super-sized 1-bedroom, 1-bath offers 1,194 square feet of living space with the potential to expand to two bedrooms. The current owner has restored the residence to its pristine original condition. The penthouse level lofts boasts two stories of windows, hardwood floors, a 22-foot ceiling and spiral iron floating stairs that ascend to a large private deck. Other features include a gourmet kitchen with a Wolfe 6-burner range and built-in wine cooler, and a sliding “barn” door leading to the bedroom.
Currently pending with an expected closing in January is Unit #W208, a private Life at the Top listing. The airy, sun-filled corner unit has 2-bedrooms, 2-baths and 1,703 square feet of space. The spacious residence listed at $1 million, leading to a bidding war and agreement in excess of the asking price. Among the many features are a front foyer, giant wraparound windows, exposed overhead ductwork, a large master bedroom suite with honed marble en-suite bath, and a beautiful chef’s kitchen with Viking and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances, black granite counters and hanging pendant lights over the breakfast bar.
There was one closing in December. Unit #W103 is a 1-bedroom, 2-bath plus den residence with 1,188 square feet of living space. Listed at $850,000, the apartment sold for $835,000. The stylish flat with its treetop views boasts Brazilian Cherry wide-plank floors, exposed overhead ductwork and interior brick accents. The gourmet kitchen features a Wolf range, Sub-Zero fridge, GE Monogram wine cooler and hanging pendant lighting. A large owner’s suite offers a custom walk-in closet and spa-style en-suite bath, while the den has a built-in full-size Murphy bed plus full guest bath.
