The popularity of The Wooster and Mercer Lofts in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood cannot be denied. Active listings can be hard to come by—there were no available units in July, and no fresh sales activity as well. Developed by Abdo and delivered in 2007, the two-building complex with 87 luxury residences combines modern industrial chic with retro touches, such as 140 year-old bricks from the old Children’s Museum in Washington that serve as interior accents.
The following
list represents some of the more notable sales at Wooster and Mercer since the
beginning of the year. Perchance to dream of new listings like these!
The first closing of 2019 was a good one: Unit #W305 originally listed at $1,699,000 and sold for $1,580,000. The stunning two-level, 3-bedroom, 3-bath corner loft boasts 3,000 square feet of living space. Included are two master bedroom suites, towering wraparound factory-style windows, soaring ceilings and floating iron stairs leading to a giant loft living area overlooking the main floor.
Unit #W212 went under contract in just 12 days, listing for $726,000 and closing in March at full price. The super-sized 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartment boasts an eye-popping 1,294 square feet of living space. Among the features are a giant great room concept with an open gourmet kitchen, exposed overhead ductwork, antique brick accents, a luxurious bath with twin-sink vanity and a huge bedroom with frosted glass doors.
Unit #M404 listed for $999,900 and closed in April for an even million. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath residence with 1,876 square feet of space is truly captivating, with rich wide-plank hardwoods and two stories of giant windows. The iron stairs seem to climb forever and the ceiling seems impossibly high. The kitchen alone is worth raving about with its custom maple cabs, Viking range, Sub-Zero fridge and pendant lighting. From the master bedroom suite to spa-like baths, this is a very cool loft space.
Also closing in May was Unit #M408 with 3-bedrooms, 3-full baths and 2,565 square feet of space. This sublime city loft listed for $1,450,000 on April 25 and closed the very same day for $1,480,000—that’s $30,000 over list on an immediate sale! The buyers landed a stunning corner mezzanine loft with two story windows, soaring ceilings, floating iron stairs and other upscale industrial lifestyle additions.
Unit #M202 listed for $1,399,000 and settled for $1,340,000 in June. Soaring ceilings, two-story windows, exposed ductwork, floating iron stairs and accent bricks add to the appeal. Toss in gorgeous hardwood floors, beautiful upstairs bedrooms and family area, luxurious spa-type baths and French doors opening to a private patio, and you begin to understand why real estate buyers flock to the Wooster & Mercer.
The Wooster and Mercer Lofts are located at 1600 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. While the neighborhood is considered to be Rosslyn, the complex is also close to the Court House border.
