Offering a terrific location and a hip industrial-chic ethos, the Wooster and Mercer Lofts is one of the region’s perennially popular condominium communities. Designed by Cunningham | Quill and developed by Abdo, the Rosslyn residences are fronted by trendy Clarendon Boulevard and extend along the side streets of Queen and Pierce. Completed in 2007, the two large brick buildings were inspired by New York City’s SoHo warehouse district, particularly along Wooster and Mercer Streets.
The two seven-story structures are home to 87 condo units in total, including both loft-inspired single level layouts as well as the larger multilevel condos with true lofts that overlook the main living and dining areas. Spectacular finish details include soaring ceilings, huge factory-style windows, and 150 year-old brick accents that were reclaimed from the former Little Sisters of the Poor convent in Washington, DC. Condo owners don’t often choose to part with these impressive residences, and there were no active listings at the property in the month of May. Highlights from recent sales are described below:
The most recent closing occurred in March when Unit #W106 in the Mercer building sold for $820,000. The very generous 1,400 square foot floorplan includes just one bedroom, but the main living and dining area is so large that it could theoretically support a room addition such as a den or second bedroom. Features include soaring ceilings, exposed overhead ductwork, and hanging factory-style lights. Cherry hardwood floors gleam under the sun from massive windows, and exposed brick accents add to the warehouse ambience. The chef’s kitchen features Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, and there is also an in-unit laundry room, as well as two secure parking spaces and extra storage.
There has been one other transaction in 2025 with Unit #M306 in the Mercer building selling for $1,035,000 in January. The 1,421 square foot residence features one bedroom, 1.5 baths, and a large den with sliding barn-style windows. Other standout elements include high ceilings, giant windows, cherry hardwood floors, overhead ductwork, and an exposed brick wall along one side. A beautiful new kitchen boasts white stone counters and a matching dining/prep counter with waterfall edges. The bedroom suite with its walk-in closet is quite roomy, and there is also an in-unit laundry room. Garage parking is included.
Also noteworthy is the sale of Unit #W304 in the Wooster building in the latter stages of 2024. The true duplex loft with 2,170 square feet of living space closed at $1,500,000. A towering two-story wall of windows provides a spectacular backdrop, along with Brazilian cherry floors and a bedroom at each level. The chef-inspired kitchen is open to the main living and dining area, with floating iron stairs ascending to the upper level where you’ll find an expansive office/entertainment area overlooking the living room below. There is also a large second ensuite bedroom at the upper level.
Residents at Wooster and Mercer have much to enjoy in addition to their warehouse-style abodes. The condo community is close to shops, restaurants, and entertainment along the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor. The Rosslyn Metro Station and Courthouse Metro Station are both nearby, and there is also a nice array of onsite amenities including a staffed lobby with concierge service, a state-of-the-art fitness center, an inviting swimming pool, and a club room with billiards. The pet-friendly condo community has grassy areas for dogs to enjoy, and there is also a small next-door neighborhood park.
