Developed by Abdo and designed by Cunningham | Quill Architects, The Wooster and Mercer Lofts is one of Rosslyn’s most highly regarded and sought-after-condominium communities. The two-building complex with 87 units in total was inspired by New York City’s SoHo warehouse district along Wooster and Mercer Streets. The buildings sport an industrial chic vibe, with giant factory-style windows, exposed ductwork and repurposed 140 year-old brick accents from the old Children’s Museum in Washington.
Such is the enduring popularity of this trendy address that listings don’t often pop up. That said, there is a new availability in November with Unit #W108 offered at $1,350,000. This showcase residence comes with two bedrooms, two baths, and 1,710 square feet of sunny living space. Lovely cherry hardwood floors are complemented by high ceilings, exposed ductwork, and custom hanging ring chandeliers. Tasteful wall colors contrast nicely with the aged brick accents, while massive windows look out onto the grassy grounds. The Great Room concept includes separate living and dining areas, and the chef-inspired open kitchen is a pleasure to cook in with stone counters and Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms are nicely appointed as well, and two garage parking spaces as well as extra storage are included.
Meanwhile, Unit #W407 came to market in October and received an accepted offer in 14 days. Listed at $1,399,900, the 1,830 square foot penthouse is now pending and due to close by the end of the year. The renovated residence with one bedroom, a den that can serve as an extra bedroom, and two baths features soaring 21-foot ceilings, exposed brick columns, massive storefront-style windows, and floating iron stairs leading up to a glorious wraparound rooftop deck that is ideal for entertaining. The primary bedroom has a remodeled ensuite bath with a twin-sink vanity, and a dramatic mosaic tiled walk-in frameless shower. The open chef’s kitchen boasts an expansive center island, a professional 6-burner Wolf range, a Sub-Zero fridge plus an additional built-in Sub-Zero wine fridge. Three garage parking spaces convey.
Unit #M303 seem to be in a form of limbo. The oversized one-bedroom condo with two baths and a bonus den has been removed from the active MLS listings. The remodeled residence with its 1,488 square foot layout had been offered at $1,165,000 but may now be in rental status. We will keep track to see if becomes available again. This unique condo has espresso-toned wall and ceiling hues that provide a striking counterpoint to the cherry hardwood floors and antique brick accents. The chef-inspired open kitchen boasts stone counters and island, upscale stainless steel appliances, and pantry storage. The den functions as a private guest suite, complete with a full bathroom. There’s also an in-unit laundry room. The condo comes with two garage parking spaces.
There were no closings at Wooster and Mercer in November, but the above-mentioned Unit #W407 should soon bring an end to the lengthy sales drought. The most recent previous sale was Unit #W106 with its March closing of $820,000. The airy 1,400 square foot residence with its soaring ceilings, overhead ductwork, and long hanging factory style lamps has a giant main living area that could potentially support a room addition. Brazilian cherry hardwood floors run throughout the condo, and modern floor-to-ceiling windows can either summon in tons of natural light or afford privacy through darkening shades and retractable screens.
The only other sale in 2025 was Unit #M306. The luxurious condo with its 1,421 square foot floorplan sold in January for $1,035,000. The handsome residence has one bedroom, 1.5 baths, and a large den that can serve equally well as a guest bedroom or work-from-home space. Other notable features include interior sliding barn-style doors, giant windows, cherry hardwood floors, overhead ductwork, and an exposed brick wall along one side. The open kitchen was recently remodeled with white stone counters and a matching dining/prep counter with waterfall edges.
Those fortunate enough to land one of the coveted residences at Wooster and Mercer will soon find themselves in a terrific Rosslyn neighborhood near shops and restaurants along Clarendon Boulevard. The condo community provides a nice selection of luxury amenities including a swimming pool, front desk and concierge, a club room with billiards, a nicely appointed fitness center and a dog park. There are two Metro stations nearby, along with tons of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment. Nearby groceries options include Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Safeway and a local farmers’ market.
