Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | July 2019

When it comes to amazing views, there are few buildings that can beat Turnberry Tower, located by the Potomac River in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. This is currently the tallest residential tower in the Washington Metro region, with 26 stories. Condos for sale here also have very spacious floorplans.

Fresh to the market in July is Unit #2009. The swanky apartment with 2-bedrooms, 3.5-baths, a den and 2,655 square feet of living space has already had a price increase, down from $2,920,000 to $2,890,000! Included is a private elevator, giant window walls, gleaming marble tile floors, a gourmet kitchen that curves along a single wall, luxurious spa-like marble baths and an incredibly long and wide balcony with stunning unobstructed views of the river, Key Bridge and Washington monuments. Also, the den is currently configured as a very roomy third bedroom. Storage and two parking spots convey.

Also new in July is Unit #1702 with 2-bedrooms, 2.5-baths, a den and 2,227 square feet of living space. Priced at $2,293,000, this elegant apartment is chock full of features, from private elevator to ultra-wide hardwood floors and extra touches like the custom fireplace and a high-tech smart phone home system. With custom wall treatments, floor-to-ceiling windows and a spacious private balcony, this city home has plenty to offer.

Unit #PH08 is still available, having listed in June for $2.1 million. The 25th floor penthouse has 2-bedrooms, 2-baths and 2,039 square feet of living space. Other features include private elevator, hardwood floors throughout, 11-foot ceilings, a dining room with windows looking out on the living area, luxurious marble baths, a custom kitchen with Miele and Sub-Zero appliances and a super-long balcony that offers river views.

Also still active is Unit #1902, a 19th floor penthouse priced at $2,998,000. One would expect plenty of room for nearly $3 million and this swanky apartment definitely delivers—3-bedrooms, a den, 3.5-baths and 3,045 square feet of living space! Add to that, a private elevator, custom wall treatments, hardwood floors, two parking spaces, two storage units and a large private balcony.

July was also a busy time for offers and sales at Turnberry Tower. It starts with the most expensive listing in the building. Newly pending is Unit #TS01 is a 4,447 square Tower Suite that was redesigned by Salo Levinas and priced at $4,995,000. The luxury penthouse has 3-bedroom suites and 4.5-baths, a private elevator plus additional service elevator three parking spaces and 180 degrees of balconies offering stunning, unobstructed views of the river and Key Bridge!

Also pending and representing a more modest end of the price spectrum at this elite address is Unit #205. The modern apartment with 1-bedroom, 1.5-baths and a very roomy 1,322 square feet of living space had been listed at $850,000. With wide-plank hardwoods throughout, an open gourmet kitchen and a 274 square foot balcony with city views, this cool flat is due to close in August.

Unit #405 closed in July. The 1-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment with 1,322 square feet of space listed for $839,000 and sold for $865,000—a bump up of $26,000 over asking! Included are marble tile floors, glossy Snaidero cabinets, Sub-Zero and Miele stainless steel appliances, a big balcony and a rare private one-car garage.

Also closing in July was Unit #1605. The 1-bedroom, 1.5-bath flat has hardwood floors, upgraded closets, Sub-Zero and Miele appliances, marble baths, parking, extra storage and a long balcony with terrific cityscape views. Listed at $849,900, the apartment closed at $840,000.

Also worth
noting, two residences have been temporarily taken off the market. Unit #1910
is a spacious 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath penthouse with a den, 2,045 square feet of
living space and a long balcony that curves around the building. It had been
priced at $2,349,000. The other unit to be temporarily removed is #906 with
1-bedroom, 2-baths, 1,404 square feet of space and a list price of $865,000.

The many
Turnberry amenities include an indoor heated pool, fitness center, screening
room with catering kitchen, front desk and concierge, and secure underground
parking. While parking is certainly convenient, the Rosslyn Metro Station is
also super close. Rosslyn is a waterfront community that continues to evolve
with an increasing number of top shops and restaurants. Plus, it’s the gateway
to Arlington and the super trendy Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor.
