With soaring ceilings and industrial chic vibes, the Wooster and Mercer Lofts were developed by Abdo and masterfully designed by Cunningham Quill. Located along trendy Clarendon Boulevard in the Rosslyn neighborhood, the complex is comprised of two brick buildings with a total of 87 residences. Interior features include massive factory-style windows, exposed ductwork and 150 year old brick accents that were repurposed from the former Little Sisters of the Poor convent in Washington, DC.
Wooster and Mercer is one of Washington Metro’s perennially popular condo communities, and available listings don’t pop up often. However, there is one active property as of this writing. Unit #502 came to market in June and already has a price reduction, from $1,275,000 down to $1,240,000. The corner unit with its flood of natural light from huge walls of windows, has two bedrooms, two full baths, and 1,691 square feet of living space. High ceilings, exposed brick accents, and stunning hardwood floors add to the appeal. The open main living and dining area is complemented by a gorgeous chef-style kitchen with long pendant lights hanging over the white granite dining island. Other features include custom-built walk-in closets, luxurious baths with twin-sink vanities, in-unit laundry, two garage parking spaces, and extra storage.
There was one closing in July. Unit #W309 is a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath true loft condo that sold for its full asking price of $1,295,000. The 1,914 square foot residence has two stories of living space with a bedroom suite at each level. The main living area has 21-foot high soaring ceilings and two stories of massive windows, with floating black iron stairs winding up to the upper level with its open loft area. The open chef’s kitchen features black granite counters, a prep/dining island, and Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances, and overlooks the two-story Great Room with is delightful views. Two parking spaces are included.
There were two earlier sales this summer. Unit #W206 closed in June for $1,175,000 after listing for $1,195,000. The recently renovated two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 1,642 square feet of sunny living space enjoys streaky wide-plank hardwood floors, huge factory-style windows, brick accents, and exposed overhead ductwork. The remodeled kitchen has white quartzite counters, sleek glass-front cabinetry, and SubZero and Wolfe appliances. The bathrooms have matching white quartzite counters as well. An un-unit laundry room with full-sized machines is another convenient benefit.
Also closing in June was Unit #W212 in the Wooster building. The 1,294 square foot condo with one bedroom and one bath sold for $830,000 after listing for $850,000. The apartment’s main living area is open and bathed in natural light thanks to huge full height windows that gaze out over a park-like setting. Other features include Brazilian Cherry floors, exposed overhead ductwork, brick accents, and an open gourmet kitchen with dark granite counters and top of the line Viking and Sib-Zero stainless steel appliances. A cute Juliet balcony overlooks the back lawn.
The Wooster and Mercer Lofts have a great location along the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, with numerous shops and restaurants within easy strolling distance. Also nearby are both the Rosslyn and Courthouse Metro stations. Residents at Wooster-Mercer enjoy a friendly staffed lobby with concierge service, an outdoor swimming pool and lounge, a fitness center, and a club room. The complex is pet-friendly, with lots of grassy areas including a private dog park.
