There are few condominiums in the Washington Metro area more popular and sought after than the Wooster and Mercer Lofts. The complex is comprised of two buildings, the Wooster and the Mercer, located along Clarendon Boulevard and extending down the side streets of N. Pierce and N. Queen Streets in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. Developed by Abdo and designed by Cunningham Quill Architects, the buildings feature a retro warehouse vibe, including interior accents such as exposed ductwork and 150 year old brick accents that originally came from the former Little Sisters of the Poor convent in Washington, DC.
There are no condos currently available at Wooster and Mercer. Unit #W212 in the Wooster building came to market in May but quickly received an accepted offer. The one-bedroom, one-bath condo with a spacious 1,294 square foot layout is now pending with an anticipated closing date at the end of June. There were two other listings that also went under contract in May. Unit #W206 listed for $1,195,000 toward the end of April and is now in A/C (Active Under Contract) status, another term for pending with contingencies. The residence has a sunny and open ambience with huge factory-style windows, overhead ductwork, and exposed brick accents. The redone gourmet kitchen has a different flavor from standard Wooster and Mercer cook spaces, featuring white quartzite counters, sleek glass-front cabinetry, and SubZero and Wolfe appliances. The bathrooms have matching white quartzite counters as well. An un-unit laundry room with full-sized machines help round things out.
Unit #W309 is also in A/C status, having received an accepted offer on May 18. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath loft residence had been listed at $1,325,000. Towering ceilings, floating iron stairs, and two stories of giant windows help give this 1,914 square foot condo its open and airy feel. There is a bedroom suite with full bath at each level, as well as a large and open loft area that’s perfect as a workspace, or entertainment room. The main downstairs living area includes an open gourmet kitchen with SubZero and Wolf stainless steel appliances. An in-unit laundry room offers extra convenience. Two parking spaces convey.
The first closing of the year at Wooster & Mercer happened in May, when Unit #W307 sold for $1,732,000. The 2,968 square foot loft residence has two bedrooms, three full baths, and 18-foot ceilings. Entrances are at each level, with Brazilian cherry floors, exposed brick accents, overhead ductwork, and a built-in fireplace among the many features. A spacious den that can be used as a third bedroom, The main living area includes an exquisite open gourmet kitchen, with floating iron stairs leading up to a huge loft area that’s perfect for entertaining, lounging, media, or working from home.
Those lucky enough to live at Wooster and Mercer enjoy landscaped grounds including grassy courtyards and a dog park. Other amenities include a staffed front lobby with concierge service, an outdoor swimming pool and lounge, a fitness center, and a club room. Located in the Rosslyn neighborhood, the condos are within walking distance of both the Rosslyn Metro and the next-door Courthouse Metro. Nearby grocery options include Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. This is a highly walkable area, with numerous shops and restaurants.
